In We Go Way Back, 11 young people take the audience back to the time when Enschede was a textile city and factories were everywhere. They tell the stories of the young people of that time. What was it like in the factory? What did their lives look like? And what was it like to work in the factory with people from different cultures?

The scenography consists of a huge patchwork of cotton that is revealed throughout the performance. The patchwork also acts as the stage floor on which the young actors step in and out of their characters. At the end of the stories, they raise the patchwork and show it to the audience. After which they disappear behind it, bringing the shadows of the past alive one more time.
